Last year I began working out a graphic novel I had been writing for some years now. Later I hope to develop it into an animation. I was able to get through some of it between other art projects and my current job. I wanted this to be a 3D graphic novel series. The story line does have a definite beginning and end. I decided on using Zbrush and Photoshop as my primary software to make this happen. The big obstacles I have was the time it takes to create the initial 3D models. The Photoshop portion did not take much time once the models were created and posed. Second obstacle happened to be the 32 bit version of WIndows I was using. Zbrush was guaranteed to crash at least once a day. It was very frustrating completing a pose, going through the rendering process, and getting the Zbrush error message "Your PC is lame.....better luck next time".
I'm showing the first eight pages that I completed in my gallery. I'm actually going to go back through the entire process and revise everything.I find that I don't really want a overbearing 3D look to the graphic novel. Also the Zbrush process will now be split up a bit more. I eventually want to rig the models to speed up the posing.
